The Boston Massacre...

Day 2 of trying to digest my Boston Massacre...

Embarrassment, regret, self-loathing, let down, anger, exhaustion... I dont know how to describe what happened after mile 14.  I was running a great race, was right on my target miles (6:50-6:55), then the wheels fell off.

I'm still not sure what went wrong.  Although diet & hydration are probably major culprits.
I'm doing my best to get over it, and honestly... laughing it off has helped.  With this image I should have no problem being an extra in the next Romero film...

  2. The first time I got drunk I shit my pants in front of a chick that I was hoping to bang. Want to trade?

  5. You just ran and finished the most prestigious marathon in the world. Your son has a champion for a father and your wife has a hell of a man for a partner. And you have both of them supporting you though all the training and cheering for you every time you cross a finish line as if you were the one breaking the tape. You rock. What more could you ask for?

Congratulations on proving that, beyond all the training and plans, grit and determination are the real core of the runner.
